They take on Gokulam Kerala FC in their Indian Football League match today

Panaji: Dempo Sports Club will face Gokulam Kerala FC in Matchweek 4 of the Indian Football League 2025-26 at the Payyanad Stadium, Kerala, today.

Dempo have shown promise across their opening three fixtures but are still searching for their first win. A home draw against Real Kashmir FC, a narrow loss to Diamond Harbour FC, and a resilient away point at Chanmari FC have left them with two points so far. Head coach Samir Naik, however, remains encouraged by the team’s performances and is confident that results will soon follow.

“We’ve been doing well but some results did not go our way,” Naik said. “In this league format, it’s important to take something positive from every game, otherwise any team can struggle.”

Naik also underlined the competitiveness of the league, stressing that no fixture offers an easy route to points. “Every team is pushing hard and there are no easy games. Even teams at the bottom are fighting to win. Gokulam will be a tough challenge because we also want to be among the teams competing at the top,” he added.

The Dempo coach confirmed a few injury concerns in the squad but backed the depth at his disposal. “I believe in all the players I have,” he said.

Goalkeeper Ashish Sibi, who impressed in the draw against Chanmari FC, echoed the positive mood within the camp and highlighted the team’s preparation heading into the clash.

“After the Chanmari match, we stayed positive and trained well. We are ready for this game,” Sibi said. “It’s my responsibility to give my best for the team, and this match is no different. We need a positive result. It’s been three games, and we’re still chasing our first win, but we will give everything.”
