Dempo Challengers beaten by RC Goa

Panaji: Dempo Challengers suffered a four-wicket defeat against RC Goa in the PGML 5.0 at Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal.

Asked to bat first, Dempo put up 144 for 8 in 20 overs with Vedant Naik leading the way with a steady 38. Ameet Kakode kept the momentum going with 35, while opener Vishesh Behl’s 31 gave the innings a solid platform. RC Goa’s Nakul Mhamal proved the difference with the ball, returning 3 for 17 to stall Dempo’s progress at key moments. Defending the total, Dempo struck early and had RC Goa in trouble at 34 for 3, with Ahaan Dayal (2 for 23) and Harsh Parekh (1 for 6) making an immediate impact. Aryan Mashelkar then played the anchor role with 48 off 40 balls, before Ramnath Gaonkar’s rapid 28 off 11 swung the chase. Shubham Lokre (34*) and Paras Naik (24*) ensured there were no late stumbles, taking RC Goa to 148 for 6 in 18.4 overs.
