Dempo Goa Challengers selected Akash Rajavelu and Sreosree Chakraborty for the  upcoming UTT Juniors Season 2, which will be held in Goa from July 8 to 19 alongside Butterfly UTT Season 7.

The grassroots competition, returning for its second edition, will feature 14 U-15 paddlers selected from the Dream Sports Championships Table Tennis 2026 held earlier this year in Chennai.

U Mumba TT made Ahona Ray, winner of the Girls’ Singles title at the WTT Youth Contender Doha 2026, the first overall pick in the draft. Defending champions Kolkata ThunderBlades selected Vatsal Duklan and Titash Chatterjee, while Dabang Delhi TTC picked Himon Mondal and Sreejani Chakraborty.

Ahmedabad APL Pipers drafted Souswarya Banerjee and Aarya Redkar, PBG Pune Jaguars selected Aarav Acharya and Shreya Dhar, while UP Prometheans secured Nilay Pattekar and Subhomita Basak. U Mumba TT later added Somdev Sengupta to complete their squad.

The league will follow the Butterfly UTT format, with each tie featuring Boys’ Singles, Girls’ Singles and Mixed Doubles matches. The top four teams will progress to the semifinals.

Butterfly UTT co-promoter Vita Dani said the initiative continued to strengthen grassroots table tennis and provide development opportunities for young players across the country.
