Dimitry, Neville, Kalyananaraman B and Marcus advanced to the next stage of the Masters 45+ Singles category following decisive second-round victories on the opening day of the Baale BPS Open 2026 at the B.P.S. Sports Club, Margao, on Friday.
Dimitry defeated Sidharth S 6-2, while Neville edged past Sameer 7-5 in a closely fought encounter. Kalyananaraman B continued his fine run with a 6-1 win over Kishore, and Marcus kept up the momentum, overcoming Naveen 6-3.
Earlier in the first round, Sameer had opened with a 6-0 victory over Anup, and Pankaj Naik blanked Brian by an identical margin. Kalyananaraman B began his campaign with a 6-2 win against Rohan L, while Marcus got past Kedar 6-4.
Ehrlick also advanced after defeating T Kulkarni 6-0.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated in the presence of Alberto Colaco and other dignitaries.
