Mohd Taha, Mohammad Fahim net one goal each to hand the home side a 2-0 defeat
Fatorda: FC Goa suffered a 0-2 defeat to Corbett FC in their Dream Sports Championship–AIFF Junior League match at the DBO ground, Fatorda on Monday.
Corbett set the tone early, pressing with intent and moving the ball sharply to unsettle the hosts. Their dominance paid off in the 16th minute when Mohd Taha finished clinically after a defensive lapse.
FC Goa struggled to gain a foothold, with Corbett continuing to control proceedings. Mohammad Fahim doubled the lead just before halftime, finding the net in the 44th minute to leave the hosts with a mountain to climb.
The second half saw FC Goa attempt a response, but clear chances remained scarce as Corbett stayed organised at the back.
Trinsly Menezes, Crossley Dias and Messi Fernandes were booked for FC Goa, while Badal Munda and Taha saw yellow for Corbett.
Later in the evening at Raia ground, Alchemy International FA edged past Mohun Bagan Super Giants 1-0.
Sourish Nair’s lone goal secured them the win.
