Raia

FC Goa beat nine-man FC Madras 2-0 to register their first win in the Group D match of the Dream Sports Championships-AIFF Junior League at the Raia Panchayat Ground in South Goa.

FC Goa dominated proceedings from the outset and controlled possession throughout the contest, giving the visitors little opportunity to settle.

Shlok Govekar opened the scoring in the 34th minute to hand FC Goa a deserved lead at the break.

FC Madras were reduced to nine men after Joel Stephen and Sreeram Neog were both sent off following yellow-red card offences, further denting their hopes of a comeback.

FC Goa capitalised on the numerical advantage and sealed the result in the 72nd minute through Trinsly Menezes.

Rupam Seal and Mohammed Riyas were cautioned for FC Madras, while Emmanuel Gama and Ashlan Simoes received yellow cards for FC Goa.

At Fatorda, Mohun Bagan Super Giant eased past Reliance Foundation Young Champs 3-1.

Mohun Bagan’s Rajdeep Paul netted a brace while Sayan Halder scored once in their win. Subhrajit Pramanick pulled one back for Reliance.
