Taleigao: Taleigao: Goa College of Agriculture, Ella, and Don Bosco College, Panjim, registered dominant victories in the Inter-Collegiate Cricket Men’s Championship organized by Goa University at Taleigao on Monday.

In the opening encounter, Goa College of Agriculture outclassed Ponda Education Society’s College of Education, Farmagudi, with an emphatic eight-wicket win. PES Farmagudi, opting to bat first after losing the toss, struggled to post a competitive total, managing 127/9 in their 20 overs. Sajjan Gaonkar (31) and Sunny Raut (26) were the only batters to show some resistance, while GCA’s bowling unit, led by Jose D’Cruz (3/23) and Omkar Kaskar (2/33), kept the pressure on.

Chasing 128, GCA’s Nityay Kunkollenkar produced a sensational knock, smashing an unbeaten 92 off just 36 balls, guiding his team to a comfortable victory in just 8.5 overs. Yash Prabhudesai (24) played a supporting role, as GCA raced to 129/2 to seal an emphatic win. Kunkollenkar’s blitzkrieg earned him the Player of the Match award.

In the second match, Don Bosco College, Panjim, registered a convincing seven-wicket win over Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao. Agnel Institute, electing to bat first, found the going tough and could only manage 83/9 in their 20 overs. Harsh Vaigankar fought a lone battle with a gritty 37, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered against a disciplined DBC attack, with Rudrakshya Sangodkar wreaking havoc with figures of 4/19, while Sankalp Naik chipped in with 2/11.

Chasing a modest target, DBC Panjim cruised to victory in just 8.1 overs, with Yash Porob (25) and Sankar Prabhu (23) leading the charge. Despite Sarvesh Gurav (2/23) and Dhanesh Mantri (1/34) picking up wickets, DBC reached 87/3 to claim a comfortable win. Sangodkar’s brilliant spell earned him the Player of the Match honors.
