They beat CES College Cuncolim 4-1 in inter-collegiate final

Panaji: SS Dempo College (Autonomous), Cujira Bambolim, stamped their dominance at the Goa University Intercollegiate Volleyball (Men) Championship, securing the title with a commanding 4-1 victory over CES College, Cuncolim, in the final.

Dempo College showcased their strength throughout the tournament, earlier dispatching Sanquelim College by the same 4-1 margin in the semifinals.

Coached by Rehan Malik under the guidance of Michael Dias, the team displayed a blend of precision and power, with captain Tejas Gauns leading from the front. The squad featured key players like Utkarsh, Deepak, Shrayabh, Harsh, Tanvesh, Rohit, Harish, Chagan, Purushottam, Yash, and Sahil.

With 33 colleges vying for the top honors, Dempo’s triumph was a testament to their consistency and teamwork. The college principal, Manoj Kamat, applauded the squad’s achievement in the presence of Sports Secretary Gopal Naik.

Adding to their glory, skipper Tejas Gauns was named the tournament’s Best Player, capping off a stellar campaign.
