Goa College of Engineering registered an eight-wicket win over VM Salgaocar College of Law on Day 10 of the Goa University Cricket men championship match on Monday.
Electing to bowl after winning the toss, Goa College of Engineering bundled out VMS Law College for 95 in 18.4 overs. Mehank Dharwadkar top-scored with 31 off 28 balls, while Deepraj Naik contributed 17.
Narayan Sawant starred with the ball, claiming three wickets for 16 runs, while Rajat Dalal also impressed with figures of three for 10.
In reply, Goa College of Engineering chased down the target comfortably, reaching 96 for two in 10 overs. Smit Dalvi made 25, while Atchut Naik Dalal added 23 to guide the side home.
Narayan Sawant was adjudged the best performer of the match for his impactful spell with the ball.
In another match Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science defeated Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce Pilar by six wickets.
Asked to bat first after winning the toss, Fr Agnel College were bowled out for 104 in 18.4 overs. Vishnu Meena top-scored with 24 off 19 balls, while Rudra Gaonkar added 19.
Anas Baig was the pick of the bowlers for Chowgule College, returning impressive figures of four for 15. Amit Kevat supported well with three for 17, while Abdul Jakati chipped in with two for 17.
Chasing 105, Chowgule College reached the target in 15.1 overs, finishing at 105 for four. Sourav Shukla anchored the innings with a patient 42 off 48 balls, while Sanat Raikar provided quick support with 13 off six deliveries.
