Goa Women suffered a 218-run defeat to Railways in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy Elite match at the Taurian World School Ground, Ranchi on Monday.

India international Dayalan Hemalatha led the charge with a polished 130 off 117 balls as Railways amassed 309 for 6 in 50 overs. Nuzhat Parween (78) and Arushi Goel (57*) provided solid support to push the total past 300. Metali Gawandar (2/50) was Goa’s most successful bowler, while Vidhi Bhandare, Purva Bhaidkar, Tanaya Naik and Pooja Kalel claimed a wicket each.

Goa’s chase began steadily through Purvaja Verlekar (32) and Harshita Yadav (25), who added 45 for the opening stand. However, the innings unravelled soon after.

Leg-spinner Poonam Yadav produced a decisive spell of 5 for 20, with Durgesh Sahu (2/14) and Shreyasi Aich (2/6) tightening the grip as Goa were bowled out for 91 in 24 overs.
