He slams 75 as his team cruises to 98-run win over SNCA

Sanquelim: Sai Samarth Young Boys stormed to a commanding 98-run victory over SNCA in the NAPEX All-Goa U-16 Leather Ball Cricket Tournament on Saturday, with Vinit Kamat and Dhruv Chodankar starring with the bat.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Sai Samarth posted a daunting 194/3 in their allotted 20 overs. Kamat led the charge with a fluent 75, while Chodankar provided solid support with a well-compiled 66. Despite best efforts from Krishna Singh (1/07) and Arjun Gharse (1/34), SNCA bowlers found little respite. In response, SNCA crumbled under scoreboard pressure, managing only 98/8 in 20 overs. Sadanand Lamani top-scored with 23, but tight spells from Yatharth Satarkar (2/09), Maheer Mogvir (2/20) and Pratham Prabhugaonkar (1/08) ensured there was no way back for SNCA.

Vinit Kamat’s all-round effort earned him the Player of the Match honour as Sai Samarth Young Boys notched a dominant win to boost their tournament campaign.

In another fixture at the same venue, Five Star Cricket Club edged past GOMECO. GOMECO were bowled out for 78 in 18.3 overs, with Ishant (20) offering brief resistance. Mrunal starred with the ball for Five Star, returning superb figures of 4/06, while Shaurya chipped in with 2/12.

Chasing 79, Five Star overcame a few jitters before reaching 79/6 in 15.3 overs. Ishant (19) and Siddesh (16) stitched key partnerships to keep the chase on track. Aaheesh spell of 3/08 for GOMECO kept them in the hunt, but Five Star held their nerve to clinch a four-wicket win.
