Panaji: Goa sailor Katya Coelho has secured a place to represent India at the Asian Games 2026, the Goa Yachting Association announced.
The association congratulated Coelho on securing her place and wished her success at the championships.
Goa sailor Dayne, however, could not secure a spot this time, the association said.
The GYA also reiterated its long-pending demand for the appointment of dedicated sailing coaches through the Sports Authority of Goa. It said the appointment had received approval at the SAG AGM.
According to the association, dedicated coaches would provide Goa sailors with structured training and guidance to develop their potential and help more athletes qualify for national and international competitions.
The GYA said it remained committed to supporting and nurturing local sailing talent.
