Porvorim: Kerala ended the second day at 237 for 2 in just 58 overs to trail Goa by 118 runs after the hosts were bowled out for 355 in their first innings in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group clash at the Goa Cricket Association Academy ground, Porvorim, on Friday

Resuming on 279 for 8 on Friday, Goa added crucial runs thanks to wicketkeeper Samar Dubhashi, who remained unbeaten on 55 off 109 balls, hitting four boundaries.

Dubhashi put on 25 runs for the ninth wicket with Amulya Pandrekar (10) before sharing a

51-run stand for the final wicket with Koushik V. (21). For Kerala, Ankit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with six wickets for 115 runs.

In reply, Kerala’s openers laid a solid foundation. Rohan Kunnummal played a brilliant unbeaten 132 off 154 balls, laced with 13 fours and 5 sixes, while Abhishek Nair contributed 32 in a 97-run opening stand.

After Nair’s dismissal, Sachin Baby (37) joined Rohan to add 86 runs for the second wicket, putting Kerala in a strong position. Goa bowlers Lalit Yadav and Amulya Pandrekar claimed a wicket each.
