A composed half-century from Om Bhonsle and a fluent knock by Kunal Hadfadkar powered LD Samant High School, Porvorim into the semifinals of the U-14 President Cup with a commanding eight-wicket victory over SSV Government High School, Kumbharjua at the SAG ground
on Friday.

Chasing a modest target of 140, LD Samant made light work of the total, reaching 140/2 in just 20.3 overs. Bhonsle remained unbeaten on 52, anchoring the innings with maturity beyond his years, while Hadfadkar played the perfect foil, finishing on an unbeaten 50. The duo stitched together an unbroken match-winning stand after early aggression from Saish Virnodkar, who contributed 10.

Earlier, Kumbharjua managed 139/7 in their allotted 40 overs, thanks largely to Anish Yadav’s unbeaten 49. He held the innings together after the top order faltered, with useful contributions from Vansh Gawde (24) and Yash Naik (13*).
