Margao Cricket Club sealed a semifinal berth in the Goa Premier Division League T20 tournament with a dramatic four-wicket victory over Dempo Cricket Club at the GCA ground in Sanguem on Tuesday.

Dempo posted a challenging 189 for 7 after opting for an aggressive approach with the bat. Abhinav Tejrana led the charge with a blistering 67 off 33 balls, smashing six sixes and three boundaries, while skipper Snehal Kauthankar anchored the innings with a composed 41 off 36 deliveries.

Prathamesh Salunke chipped in with 27 as Dempo maintained a healthy scoring rate throughout the innings. For MCC, Heramb Parab and Deepraj Gaonkar picked up two wickets apiece to prevent the total from escalating further.

In reply, MCC found themselves under pressure early before Aryan Narvekar produced a game-changing knock. The hard-hitting batter hammered 86 off just 41 balls, clearing the ropes nine times to swing momentum decisively in MCC’s favour.

Deepraj Gaonkar added a useful 27, while Chigurupati Venkata remained unbeaten on 25 to guide MCC home in 19.5 overs.

Dempo stayed in the contest through Samit Mishra, who returned figures of 3 for 27, but MCC held their nerve in the closing stages to register their second successive win and confirm a place in the semifinals.
