Both teams miss chances and fail to find a breakthrough

Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC and Inter Kashi played out a hard-fought goalless draw in their Indian Super League encounter at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, with both sides creating chances but failing to find the decisive breakthrough.

Inter Kashi signalled their intent from the outset and nearly struck early when Tomba Singh unleashed a left-footed effort from outside the box, forcing Odisha goalkeeper Amrinder Singh into a sharp save. The visitors continued to press, earning an early corner and stretching the Odisha backline with quick transitions.

Odisha gradually settled into rhythm and carved out openings of their own. In the 15th minute, Rahul KP tried his luck from long range following a swift break, but his effort sailed high and wide. Three minutes later, Suhair VP rose inside the box to meet Isak Vanlalruatfela’s delivery from a set piece, only to see his header fly over the crossbar.

The hosts came close again in the 33rd minute when Thoiba Singh’s header drifted wide before Suhair fired narrowly off target from close range in the same sequence. Inter Kashi responded through Alfred Planas, whose right-footed strike from inside the area in the 38th minute was blocked after a neat layoff by Rohit Danu.

Odisha’s best opportunity of the first half arrived in the 44th minute when Isak Vanlalruatfela tested Lluis Tarrés with a powerful right-footed drive from outside the box, but the Inter Kashi goalkeeper produced a fine save to keep the scores level at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with both teams probing but lacking precision in front of goal. In the 51st minute, Rohit Danu met Sergio Llamas’ delivery with a header inside the area, only for the Odisha defence to make a crucial block. Moments later, Danu tried again from distance, but his effort was smothered.

Odisha threatened from set pieces, and just past the hour mark, Suhair once again found space in the box, heading Rahul KP’s corner over the bar. Inter Kashi continued to look dangerous on the counter, with Danu remaining a constant menace.

Despite the flurry of late efforts, neither side managed to break the deadlock, and the contest ended 0-0,
