They beat KRSS HS, Volvoi to lift Ponda cluster 6 crown
Panaji: St Anthony HS, Panchwadi defeated KRSS High School, Volvoi 2-1 to clinch the Ponda Cluster 6 Under-17 girls football title.
Panchwadi made a strong start to the final as Alithea opened the scoring in the first minute. Carvalho struck again in the 40th minute to double Panchwadi’s advantage and give her team a 2-0 lead. KRSS responded quickly as Kanika pulled one back in the 41st minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1. Panchwadi, however, held on to their lead for the remainder of the match to secure victory and lift the title.
The result saw Panchwadi finish as champs, with KRSS, Volvoi taking the runners-up spot. P M Shri SSV Govt HS, Kumbharjua finished third in the tournament.
