Porvorim: Leo Sports Club produced an all-round display to hammer Betim Sports and Cultural Club by 95 runs in the Tiswadi Zone GCA Division B at the GCA ground, Porvorim, on Thursday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Leo posted a competitive 194 all out in 37.5 overs, built around a classy 76 from Prarthit Gaonkar. He anchored the innings with authority, finding support from Manoranjan Rout (32) and Krishnakant Majik (22) as Leo recovered from regular wickets. Betim’s bowlers kept chipping away, with Shaunak Naik (3/26) and Rahul Dhupdawar (3/41) leading the charge, while Sumit returned 2/43.
In reply, Betim never found momentum and were bundled out for 99 in 23.1 overs. Rudra Gadekar top-scored with 34 and Dina Volvoikar added 24, but the chase quickly unravelled under sustained pressure. Jagadish delivered a match-winning spell, finishing with 4 wickets, while Swapnil Kambli backed him up with 3/23. Prarthit Gaonkar (1/16) and Krishnakant Majik (1/33) chipped in to complete the rout.
