Donovan Ferreira, Shubham Dubey’s late assault fire them to 6-wicket victory

Mullanpur: Donovan Ferreira’s explosive unbeaten half-century, supported by Shubham Dubey’s late flourish, powered Rajasthan Royals to a six-wicket win over Punjab Kings in a high-scoring IPL clash here on Tuesday.

Chasing a daunting 223, Royals overhauled the target with four balls to spare, riding on an unbroken partnership between Ferreira (52 not out off 26 balls) and Dubey (31 not out off 12 balls). The duo launched a late assault, smashing nine fours and five sixes between them to finish the game in style after needing 71 off the last six overs. Earlier, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (43 off 16) gave RR a flying start, while Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 27) and Riyan Parag (29 off 16) kept the chase on track. However, Yuzvendra Chahal (3/36) pulled Punjab back into the contest with key breakthroughs.

Punjab Kings posted 222 for 4, powered by Marcus Stoinis’ unbeaten 62 off 22 balls, while Prabhsimran Singh (59) anchored the innings.

Priyansh Arya (29) and Cooper Connolly (30) also made useful contributions. However, the Kings’ bowling unit faltered at the death, conceding heavily as Royals completed a successful chase.
