Minerva Academy thrash them 9-1; Football 4 Change Academy beat East Bengal FC 3-0
Raia: Sesa FA suffered a 9-1 defeat in the opening match of the Dream Sports AIFF Junior League at Raia ground on Sunday.
Minerva struck early through Denamoni in the 17th minute, and despite Sesa’s attempts to settle into the game, the visitors continued to press with purpose. Punshiba added a second in the 38th minute, while Tony Huidrom’s stoppage-time goal gave Minerva a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
Sesa showed improved intent after the restart and were rewarded when Royden Carvalho pulled one back in the 58th minute with a well-taken finish. The goal briefly lifted the tempo, but Minerva responded swiftly to regain control of the contest.
Azam Khan extended the lead in the 64th minute before Denamoni struck again soon after. Nitin Pasi then capitalised with two quick goals, and Chetan Singh added another as the visitors maintained their attacking momentum.
Mahtab Singh rounded off the scoring deep into stoppage time, capping a difficult result for Sesa.
In another match at the same venue, Football 4 Change Academy defeated East Bengal FC 3-0.
Dinglen Haokip was the star of the match netting a hattrick in their win.
