Shirgao Sports Club delivered an all-round performance to defeat Goa Sports Academy by six wickets in the GCA Division A fixture at Panjim Gymkhana.
After winning the toss, Goa SA opted to bat but were bundled out for 160 in 36 overs. Jishnu Kalyanji top-scored with 35, while Abhishek Diwadkar and Vinay Sawant chipped in with 32 each. However, they struggled to build lasting partnerships as Shirgao’s bowlers kept striking at regular intervals.
Govind Ghadi led the charge with an impressive 4 for 20, well supported by Vishwatej Vaigankar (2-14) and Sagar Kore (2-23), as Shirgao maintained control throughout the innings.
In reply, Shirgao SC made light work of the chase, reaching 164 for 4 in just 22.4 overs. Amar Tripathi anchored the innings with a fluent 61, while Bhanudas Kulal contributed a solid 46 to steady the pursuit.
Hari Mhamal, Narendra Tari and Narayan Gawas picked up a wicket each, but the target proved insufficient against a confident Shirgao batting line-up.
Amar Tripathi was named Player of the Match.
