Margao

Sinq Rangers produced a disciplined all-round display to defeat Desserts N More Avengers by 23 runs in the GSB Unity Cup 3.0 tournament organised by the Goa GSB Sports & Charitable Trust at the MCC Ground, Margao on Friday.

Opting to bat under lights, Rangers posted a competitive 162 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Sairaj Dhond, who struck a brisk 50 off 25 balls, hitting four boundaries and three sixes. Mehank Dharwadkar provided the late impetus with an unbeaten 40 off 24 deliveries, including one four and three sixes. Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar was the most successful bowler for the Avengers, finishing with 2 for 29.

In reply, Avengers managed 139 for 7 in 20 overs. Captain Kaushal Hattangadi led the resistance with a 28-ball 46, laced with three fours and two sixes, while Smit Dalvi chipped in with 24. However, the rising required rate and regular wickets dented their chase.

Nikhil Virginkar (2/29), Krishnakant Hegde Desai (2/10) and Arin Angle (2/18) shared six wickets to keep the opposition in check and seal the victory.

Sairaj Dhond was named Desserts N More Player of the Match, while Arin Angle received the Kamat Realty Hero of the Match award.
