Praful Hinge scripted a dream debut with a breathtaking opening over, while another debutant Sakib Hussain backed it up with a clinical four-wicket haul as Sunrisers Hyderabad crushed Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs in the IPL here on Monday.
Hinge set the tone immediately, dismissing the much-anticipated Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for a golden duck off the very first ball before adding two more wickets in the same over to leave Rajasthan stunned. The early burst reduced RR to 9 for 5 inside three overs, effectively ending
the contest.
Sakib complemented the carnage with a composed spell of 4 for 24, striking at key moments to
prevent any comeback.
A 118-run sixth-wicket stand between Donovan Ferreira (69) and Ravindra Jadeja (45) offered brief resistance, but RR were eventually bowled out for 159 in 19 overs while
chasing 217.
Earlier, Ishan Kishan anchored SRH’s innings with a blistering 91 off 44 balls, hitting eight fours and six sixes after early setbacks. He added 88 runs with Heinrich Klaasen (40 off 26), while Nitish Kumar Reddy (28 off 13) and Salil Arora (24 not out off 13) provided a strong finish to take SRH to 216 for 6.
