They secure four-wicket win in GCA Division A North Zone

Panaji: Goa Sports Academy (Goa SA) secured a four-wicket victory over Madel Yuvak Sangh (Madel YS) in the GCA Division A North Zone at Panjim Gymkhana on Monday. Chasing a modest target of 102, Goa SA reached 104/6 in 17.5 overs, with Narayan Gawas (33) and Rounak Pednekar (26) leading the charge.

Earlier, Madel YS, after opting to bat first, struggled against Goa SA’s disciplined bowling attack, getting bowled out for 101 in 23.3 overs. Rajat Shet was the lone standout with 42, while Prathamesh Kuncolicor (15) and Tejas Chodarkar (13) chipped in. Goa SA’s Saksham Kerkar stole the show with the ball, scalping five wickets, while Ravi Kumar (3-18) and Aryan Mashelkar (1-12) provided solid support.

In response, Goa SA endured some early jitters as Rajat Shet (3-43) kept Madel YS in the hunt. However, Gawas and Pednekar’s composed knocks steered their side home. Despite a couple of late wickets, Hari Mhamal’s unbeaten 19 ensured a comfortable finish.

Saksham Kerkar’s stellar five-wicket haul earned him the Player of the Match award.
