St Anne’s Institute, Agonda were crowned South Goa U-14 girls football champions in the tournament organised by DSYA after prevailing over Perpetual Succour Convent in a penalty shootout following a goalless final.

In an evenly contested summit clash, both teams exhibited impressive skill, organisation and determination. Chances were created at either end, but resolute defending and disciplined goalkeeping ensured that neither side could break the deadlock in regulation time.

With score even at the final whistle, the match proceeded to penalties where St Anne’s proved to be better shooters
with Uriel Fernandes, Valaika Monteiro and Saima Pagi calmly converting their kicks from the spot to seal the win.
