Super SC, Siolim SC register wins

Vaibhav Patil , Vijay Gawde shine for their respective teams

Panaji: Super Sports Club, Siolim Sports Club registered  convincing wins in their respective GCA B Division clashs, on Tuesday.

In the first match, Mahalaxmi Cricket Club were bowled all out for 204 in 39.3 overs, their batting charge was led by Israel Nayak scoring a fine 71 runs and was supported by

Dhiraj Devidas’ 35, and Sachin Vishwakarma’s 21 runs. Super SC’s bowling was anchored by was Rohit Patil’s 3 for 23, supported by his team mates,  Sandip Navik claiming 3 for 50, and Siddhesh Pandit 2 for 35 runs who were the main wicket-takers.

In reply, Super Sports Club chased down the target in 36.3 overs, powered by  Vaibhav Patil’s steady 87, Rohit Patil’s unbeaten 38 and  Nitesh Vaigankar’s half century right befor getting retired due to an injury during the match. Mahalaxmi Tek’s bowling was built around Tek Bahadur’s 1 for 34 runs and Samir Tari’s 1 for 33 which were the only wicket-takers for their side. Vaibhav Patil was named Man of the Match for his all-round effort.

In another match of  the Division B, Bardez Zone at Porvorim. Siolim Sports Club held their nerve to register a narrow nine-run victory over Pilerne Cricket Club at Porvorim.

Batting first, Siolim Sports Club posted 168 all out in 36.2 overs, Vijay Gawde’s led the charge with a half century scoring 54 runs and Aryan Dudhawdkar nearly missing out on one, before being dismissed for 49 runs, while Siddesh Desai addedsome supoport scoring 24 runs. Pilerne’s bowling Vipul Nagvekar (3/18), Arnav Patil (3/27), and Samir Pavane (3/35) were the main wicket-takers.

In reply, Pilerne CC managed 159 all out in 33.4 overs, with Swapnil Shirodkar scoring 32, along with Arnav

Patil’s 25, and Viraj Malik’s 18 runs. Siolims SC’s Sushant Raut claimed  4 for 33, while  Vijay

Gawde (2/20), and Chetan Parab (2/17) were decisive with the ball. Vijay Gawde was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
