They beat MCC Tigers by 25 runs; Sudesh Rane named MOTM

Margao: MCC Thunder were crowned champions of the MCL 11 T20 Cricket Tournament after registering a convincing 25-run victory over MCC Tigers in the final at the MCC Ground here on Sunday.

Batting first, Thunder posted a formidable 189 for 8 in their 20 overs, riding on brisk contributions from Om Fadte (35 off 20 balls), Sudhir Shet (35 off 24), Ved Mahambre (36 off 15) and Iftikhar Agha (30 not out off 16). For the Tigers, the wickets were shared by Mrunmay Das (1/44), Pranav Dhuri (1/31), Viraj Tar (1/25) and Balkrishna Hodarkar (1/25)

In reply, MCC Tigers were bowled out for 164 in 20 overs, falling short despite fighting knocks from Chaitanya Kamat (36), Viraj Tar (32 off 15), Nikit Naik Dalal (25) and Pranav Dhuri (21 not out).

Sudesh Rane starred with the ball, returning figures of 4 for 23 to earn the Man of the Match award, while Iftikhar Agha (2/30) and Sudhir Shet (1/34) provided effective support as Thunder sealed the title.

PWD minister Digambar Kamat graced the prize distribution ceremony along with other dignitaries.
