Verna: United Club of Verna outclassed Betalbatim Sporting Club 5-2 in their Fernando Abranches Memorial Trophy encounter at Verna Panchayat Ground on Friday.
In regulation time, Roydon Rego (43rd minute) put UC Verna ahead, before Manushawn Gomes (51st minute) equalised for Betalbatim SC, taking the match to a tiebreaker. In the shootout, UC Verna dominated with Fulgencio Cardoz, Josley Fernandes, Hilton Fernandes, and Afers Sayed all converting, while Ashley Fernandes scored Betalbatim’s only successful attempt.
Manushawn Gomes was named Man of the Match and presented the award by Marcus Faria.
