Arlem: Vimson Panjim Powerplay dashed Ultracon Madgaon Royals’ semifinal dreams with a commanding seven-wicket victory in the Sarsangan Super Series at Arlem ground. The win, ended the Royals’ campaign, who needed a 54-run victory to secure a knockout spot.

Electing to bat in their must-win clash, the Royals stumbled early as opener Megh Netravalkar departed for a duck in the first over.

Skipper Damodar Pai Patnekar and Sarvesh Prabhugaonkar rebuilt with a steady 41-run stand before Damodar and Mahendra Audi added 54 for the third wicket, taking the total to 98 by the 11th over. However, their middle and lower order collapsed under pressure, restricting the total to 144.

Vimson Panjim Powerplay’s bowling attack shared the spoils, with Raunak Nargundker and Vardhan Prabhu Misquin claiming two wickets each.
