Doyal, Joel, Naocha net one each to remain unbeaten in Goa

Ella: Sporting Clube de Goa continued their impressive home form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Neroca FC in the I-League 2 at Ella Academy Ground, Old Goa, on Tuesday.

After three away fixtures and two home wins, Sporting secured another crucial three points in their third home outing, reinforcing their stronghold on home turf.

Head coach Mateus Costa fielded a well-balanced XI, with Abhimanyu Singh guarding the posts behind defenders Joel Colaco, Joyner Lourenco, Myron Fernandes, and Kunal Kundaikar. Samuel Costa, Sushil Meitei, Dattaraj Gaonkar, and Naocha Singh controlled the midfield, while Doyal Alves and Ronaldo Oliveira spearheaded the attack.

Sporting started cautiously but quickly found their rhythm, delivering a dominant performance that secured their third consecutive home win. The Flaming Oranje now sit on 10 points from six games, continuing their push up the table. Meanwhile, Neroca FC, struggling for consistency, suffered their third defeat of the campaign, leaving them with seven points from six outings.

Doyal Alves broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, capitalizing on a well-worked move involving Kunal and Joel before slotting home. Joel then turned scorer in the 22nd minute, finishing off a precise pass from Sushil Meitei to double Sporting’s advantage. The hosts wasted no time in the second half, as Naocha Singh sealed the result in the 46th minute.

A rock-solid defensive display and efficiency in front of goal ensured Sporting’s dominance, as they to build momentum in the league.
