Benaulim

The sixth edition of Vorrad 6.0, South Goa’s popular duathlon, was held at Benaulim Beach on Sunday, attracting cycling and running enthusiasts from across the state.

Organised by ProPedalerz Cycling Club, the event featured a 60 km cycling route along South Goa’s coastal roads followed by a beach run of 2.5 km or 6 km. Damodar Verlekar graced the occasion. A total of 81 participants completed the 2.5 km run, while 98 runners took on the 6 km challenge.

The duathlon also showcased inspiring participation across age groups. A 15-year-old rider emerged as the youngest competitor, while a 73-year-old participant proved that age is no barrier to endurance sports.

The race began at 6.30 a.m., with cyclists riding through scenic routes before returning to Benaulim Beach for the run. The event concluded with a medal distribution ceremony, recognising the efforts of the participants.
