Students showcase sustainable innovations

The Holy Spirit Institute, Margao, organised a three-day exhibition, SUSTECH 2025 on the theme ‘Tradition and Technology Empowered by Sustainability’. The event focused on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students displayed projects that combined tradition, technology and eco-friendly ideas.

Auxiliary Bishop of Goa and Daman, Rev. Simia Purificacao Fernandes, inaugurated the exhibition, with Fr. Henry Falcao as guest of honour. Also present were manager Fr. Amandio Valadares and headmistress Esmeralda Mendes e Fernandes. Academic prizes were awarded and the school was commended for promoting sustainability.

Hundreds of visitors, including students from nearby schools, explored the exhibition, which also had several inter-school competitions. On the first day, Eco-Visionaries (Science Exhibit) was won by Loyola High School, Wear the Change (T-shirt Painting) by Fatima Convent High School and Eco-Style (Sustainable Fashion Show) by St. Joseph High School, Aquem.

On the second day, CARVART was won by Infant Jesus High School, Colva, while Goencho Taal (Goan Folk Dance) saw St. Joseph High School, Aquem, emerge victorious. The final day had a special off-stage competition for parents, with Ninoshka Luis taking first place.
