Ravalnath United, Penha De Franca lift titles

Ravalnath United Team and Penha De Franca Warriors clinched the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the first Aamdar Chashak Women’s and Men’s League Cricket Tournament held at in Porvorim.

In the men’s final, Ravalnath United defeated ATB Boys Altorda Team by 10 runs to lift the championship. Ravalnath United posted 107 for five and restricted ATB Boys Altorda in a closely contested match to secure the title.

In the women’s final, Penha De Franca Warriors defeated Salvador do Mundo Team by 51 runs to emerge champions. Batting first, Penha De Franca Warriors scored 105 without loss before restricting their opponents, who failed to chase the target within the allotted overs.

The tournament featured short-format matches, with women’s games played in a four-over format and men’s matches in a five-over format. A large number of spectators witnessed the matches throughout the tournament, with the women’s league drawing strong attention and Porvorim Rising receiving widespread appreciation for organising a separate women’s Aamdar Chashak tournament for the first time. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of Minister Rohan Khaunte, along with Nilkanth Halarnkar, Joshua De Souza, Jit Arolkar, Rudolf Fernandes, Rajesh Faldessai, Kedar Naik, and Chandrakant Shetye.
