Panaji women police station has arrested a youth from Margao on charges of alleged rape of a woman under the pretext of marriage.
Police said an FIR was registered on November 10 following a complaint lodged by the victim.
Referring to the complaint, the police said that since 2023 the accused aged 35 years, on the pretext of marriage, had sexual intercourse with the woman on various occasions. Police said further investigation is being carried out.
