Writer Tinusha Pereira has recently released her second book ‘Ever Only You’, a beautiful love story about friendship, heartbreak, self-worth, and belonging.
Born and raised in Goa, the Melbourne-based writer has always loved reading romance novels and watching romantic comedies.
Having previously penned ‘Islamic Heritage of Goa’, which celebrates and preserves the often-overlooked Islamic heritage of Goa, her new book actually began with a dream. In December 2024, she discloses, she dreamt of a scene that is now a part of the book. From that one scene, she developed the characters, the plot, and the rest of the story. By the end of April 2026, she had a complete novel ready. Besides this, she was also inspired by her mother’s love for historical romance.
‘Ever Only You’ revolves around Selina who is belittled for her mixed heritage in Regency England. She is considered to be ‘on the shelf’ as she has no suitors for marriage. She finds comfort in James (Lord Ashbourne) who is kind, charming and a little cheeky. But there’s a problem. He is one person she cannot allow herself to think of romantically as he is much younger than her and the son of a powerful earl. And society would never approve of a match between them. Together, she and James must decide whether love is worth fighting for. or whether some hearts are destined to remain apart. The book is about Selina navigating through life, discovering herself and finding her own voice.
Through Selina’s journey, the author wanted to show how important it is to speak up, stand up for what one believes in and recognise one’s own worth, and how choosing your own voice can change the course of your life.
