The government has recently notified 11 protected monuments in the state under the Goa Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Rules, 1980, including Chapora, Alorna and Cabo da
Rama forts.
The visitors to these monuments will be charged fees. The other notified monuments are fortress of Khorjuve, caves at Khandepar, site of rock carving at Pansaimal, site of the temple of Saptakoteshwar, site of fortress at St Estevam, fort of Mormugao, fort of Sankhali and Chapel of Our Lady
of Monte.
Government sources said the fee charged at these 11 monuments would be Rs 50 per person. Visitors to the monuments like Reis Magos Fort and Aguada Jail Museum are already being charged an entry fee.
