The BJP on Tuesday announced Dr Sneha Bhagwat as the new president of its Curtorim mandal, with the party leaders urging workers to strengthen the constituency and ensure it does not
remain “weak”.
In her address to the committee members and party workers from the 43 booths of the mandal, Bhagwat said, “For many years, Curtorim has been a weak area, but by studying and analysing our weaknesses, we must work on improving as a party. There is a lot of work to be done, and we need to make it stronger.”
Bhagwat said that when they began their efforts, she noticed that the BJP’s presence had not reached much in the constituency. “Though there is an independent MLA supporting the BJP, several projects and schemes still need to reach the people. We must address this, and I will be organising many programmes.”
Senior leader and former MLA Damu Naik said, “Being a member of the BJP is a source of pride for each worker. Unlike Congress, which promotes family-based politics, in the BJP, common people can rise through hard work and reach positions, including the post of Prime Minister.”
