Saraswat festival to showcase community’s cuisine, culture

The Goa Saraswat Samaj will organise the Saraswat Food and Cultural Festival from February 7 to 9, at the SGPDA Grounds, Fatorda, Margao.

The festival will feature traditional Goan Saraswat cuisine and offer a platform for the community to showcase their cultural
talents.

A special felicitation ceremony for meritorious Saraswat students will be held on Saturday, February 8, at 3.30 pm. Students excelling in academics and sports will be honoured, with specific criteria for eligibility, including Class 10 students who secured 90 percent and above, Class 12 students with 85 percent and above, graduates and diploma holders with 70 percent and above, postgraduates with 70 percent and above, and professionals with 60 percent and above.

Additionally, those with special achievements such as IIT or PhD qualifications, CA, CS, or state-level sports representation will also be recognised, regardless of the percentage.

The Vidya Vardhini financial support programme for students pursuing degree, diploma, or postgraduate courses will also form part of the felicitation. Eligible students can submit their details online or collect and submit physical forms available at Maya Book Store, located behind Grace Church in Margao.
