Curchorem

Police have registered an offence against Shashikant Gadekar of Parcem, Pernem for submitting fake documents, including a passing certificate, statement of marks, and school leaving certificate, in the name of Guardian Angel High School, Curchorem.

The complaint, lodged by the headmaster of the school, stated that Gadekar had submitted the fake documents to the school office in an attempt to obtain a bonafide certificate.

Speaking to reporters, Shashikant’s father, Krishna, claimed that his son was innocent and not responsible for the fake documents. According to Krishna, the family was approached by a man named Mayur Kandolkar, who was familiar with them, and who offered to procure the fake documents for Rs 15,000.

Krishna Gadekar said that, in 2000, Shashikant could not appear for his SSC exams due to a serious accident. At the time, Kandolkar said that he could arrange the SSC passing certificate, marksheet, and school leaving certificate for Rs 15,000.

He said that they paid the amount and received the documents, believing that they had been issued by the school.

The issue came to light when Shashikant, who had recently secured a visa for a job, needed the bonafide certificate from the school. Upon presenting the documents to the headmaster, they were informed that the certificates were fake.

PSI Gautam Shetkar, the investigating officer of the case, said that efforts are underway to trace Kandolkar.

A case has been registered against Shashikant under Sections 336(3) and 340(2) BNS 2023.
