Don Bosco College, Panjim, triumphed in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Women’s Basketball Championship 2024-25, defeating St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, 51-41 in a thrilling final at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim.

Star performer Sarah Hussain, who was later named Best Player of the Tournament, led the charge for Don Bosco College, Panjim, displaying excellent shooting accuracy and leadership on the court. The contest remained tightly poised in the early stages, but a decisive third-quarter surge gave Don Bosco the momentum to pull away from their opponents.

En route to the final, Don Bosco College, Panjim, delivered a commanding 36-0 win over PCCE, Verna, while St Xavier’s College edged past SS Dempo College, Cujira, 23-19 in the other semifinal.

The winning squad included: Shimron Nathan, Aroshi Govekar, Yukta Mahato, Shaina Almeida, Rhea Pires, Blessica Rodrigues, Sarah Hussain (Best Player), Kavita Kumari, Pandit, Britney Lauriana Barreto, Mariyam Shaikh, Megan Pereira and Sania Shaikh.
