They lift Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy beating Margao CC in final
Margao: Dempo Cricket Club lifted the 3rd Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy with a commanding seven-wicket win over Margao Cricket Club in the final held at MCC ground, Margao, on Sunday.
Opting to bowl first, Dempo restricted Margao to 95/9 in 20 overs. Heramb Parab (21), Sazu Naik (20), and Rishikesh Ugale (17) were the only
Margao batters to reach double digits. Yogesh Kauthankar led the bowling with 3/11, supported by Craig Dourado (2/21), Avinash Gawas (1/14), Ramnath Gaonkar (1/8), and Avishkar Mone (1/24).
In reply, Dempo chased the target in 15.3 overs, with Avinash Gawas scoring 34 and contributions from Prathamesh
Gawas (19), Kauthankar (14*), and Mone (10*). Margao’s bowlers took three wickets but couldn’t defend the total.
Kauthankar won both Man of the Final and Series, while Dourado was named Best Bowler.
