Veling Cricketers delivered a dominant all-round performance to register a thumping 73-run win over Shantadurga Betim in the Betim United Trophy at Campal ground, Panaji.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Veling posted a competitive 156/8 in their 20 overs. Opener Pritesh Naik led the charge with a fluent 56, while Rajat Naik (19) and Sankalp Prabhu (17) chipped in with useful cameos. Mubarak Shaikh was the pick of the bowlers for Shantadurga, finishing with figures of 4/31. Mehan Dharwadkar (2/23) and Umesh Naik (1/28) provided solid support.
In response, Shantadurga Betim crumbled under pressure, managing just 83 in 15.1 overs. Anvay Naik and Siddesh Pandit top-scored with 16 apiece, while Mehan Dharwadkar added 14. Venkatesh Prabhugaonkar ran through the middle order with a superb 3/10 spell. Pritesh Naik continued his fine form with the ball, picking 2/9, while Sarvesh Kunkalikar (2/16), Rohish Sangaonkar (2/22), and Tanvehs (1/4) ensured the collapse.
For his all-round brilliance, Pritesh Naik was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Jitendra Bhonsle.
