Shots fired at moving car in Marcaim, driver escapes unhurt

Days after a shootout incident at Mungul, miscreants opened fire on a moving car at Karnale, Marcaim late Thursday night.

According to police, car driver Saurabh Lotlikar, a resident of Ramnathi, Ponda, luckily escaped unhurt, but his car was damaged in the incident.

Police said the firing occurred     on the busy Ponda-Marcaim road at Karnale bridge. Two rounds were fired, which punctured a tyre of the car. Sources said the streetlights were not functioning at the place of crime.

On receipt of information, police rushed to the site and secured the crime scene. Vehicle movement was being monitored by the cops till late night.

Meanwhile, police have taken Lotlikar into custody for his safety and also for investigation purpose. Till midnight, police were in search of clues to nab the accused.
