GHS Kumbharjua, SKK Keri clinch U-17 tennis ball cricket titles

Ponda: Government HS, Kumbharjua and SKK HS, Keri emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ sections respectively at the 21st Goa State Under-17 School Tennis Ball Cricket Championship. Organised by Wagle High School, Mangeshim in collaboration with the Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association, the three-day tournament was held at the Mardol and Kunkolim grounds.

In the boys’ category, Government High School, Kumbharjua finished ahead of Saraswat High School, Mapusa, while Sharada English High School, Marcela and MIBK High School, Khandepar shared third place.

SKK High School, Keri topped the girls’ section, followed by Sharada English High School, Marcela. Wagle High School, Mangeshim and Sacred Heart High School, Parra jointly secured third position.

Among individual award winners, Tejal Gaude (SKK High School, Keri) and Anish Jhadev (Government High School, Kumbharjua) were named best bowlers in the girls’ and boys’ sections respectively. Tanishka Gaude (SKK High School, Keri) and Vedant Shirodkar (Saraswat Vidyalay, Mapusa) claimed the best batter awards.

Shreesha Chodankar was adjudged the girls’ player of the championship, while Sankalp Naik of Government High School, Kumbharjua won the honour in the boys’ category.
