Sporting Clube de Goa reclaimed the top spot with a 1–0 win over Geno FC in the GPL Super League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa.
With the victory, Sporting Clube moved to the top of the league with 37 points from 16 matches, followed by CD Salgaocar in second place with 35 points from the same number of matches, while Geno FC remained in third place with 30 points from 15 matches.
The decisive moment came in the 17th minute when Ivon Costa found space just outside the area. Unleashing a powerful, clear shot from distance, Costa beat the Geno FC goalkeeper to break the and give Sporting Clube the an advantage before th break. The second half saw Geno FC press hard in search for an equalizer but the SC Goa defense held firm to their slender 1-0 lead to seal three points.
Meanwhile, in the relegation league fixture played at Tilak Maidan, Pax of Nagoa SC registered a narrow victory over Vasco SC with Adarsh Raj MR scoring the decisive goal late in the match to seal the win.
With the win, Pax of Nagoa moved up to tenth place with 18 points, while Vasco SC slipped to ninth place with 16 points.
