A fire broke out at 11.34 am in the electrical switch room located next to the elevator in the Arrival A2 corridor of the Dabolim airport, triggering an immediate response from fire personnel who rushed to the spot. The blaze was brought under control by 11.43 am.

Authorities said flight operations remained unaffected as the incident occurred during NOTAM hours, and the arrival
area was cleared of
smoke before the first incoming flight.

Passengers present in the Security Hold Area (SHA) were safely relocated to smoke-free zones, while airlines were instructed to advise passengers to remain calm and
avoid panic.

Officials further said
that smoke within the building was completely extracted using the smoke management system by 12.25 pm. No casualties were reported.
