Mapusa

Mapusa Police have registered an FIR against two persons for allegedly making remarks against a Hindu deity. The offence was registered following complaints filed by Goenchi Nari Shakti and a Hindutva organisation. The complaint stated that the accused had made offensive and vulgar remarks.

Police said an enquiry was conducted after receiving the complaint, following which an FIR was registered and investigation initiated. Statements have also been recorded.

During verification of their whereabouts, police found that the duo are currently out of the country. “We have opened a lookout circular through the proper channel and airports have been intimated. Whenever they arrive in India, necessary action will be initiated.  All information has been collected and the FIR has been registered,” a police officer said.
