The District and Sessions Court, North Goa, has reserved its order till May 4 on the bail application of Saurabh Sahni (48), a native of Uttar Pradesh, who was arrested by the Goa Crime Branch for allegedly soliciting a foreign woman for prostitution and uploading a video on social media.

Last month, police took suo motu cognisance of the video that went viral on social media, in which some men were allegedly seen soliciting a woman near Tito’s Lane in Baga. The accused were seen making unwelcome physical advances and explicit sexual overtures towards the woman and demanding sexual favours, police said. Based on this, an FIR was registered on charges of sexual harassment and insulting the modesty of a woman.

A Crime Branch team later went to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and apprehended Sahni. Police said investigations revealed that the video was recorded in September 2024 in Baga and uploaded in April 2026 to increase subscribers.

The woman seen in the video was traced and her statement was recorded, police said.

According to police, during interrogation Sahni confessed to soliciting the woman for prostitution and recording the video on September 19, 2024, at around 1.19 am at the end of Tito’s Lane and saving it on his hard disk. The video was uploaded on his YouTube channel ‘Realduniya007’ on April 12, 2026, to increase subscribers, police said, adding that he later uploaded the same video on his personal Facebook account under the name Saurabh Sahni after it received fewer views.
