Benaulim: Guardian Angel Sports Club entered the final of the 47th Cana-Benaulim Soccer Tournament after defeating Sao Jose de Areal 6-5 in the penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw at the St. John the Baptist Panchayat Ground, Dando, Benaulim.
Steven Gomes gave Areal the lead in the 25th minute after being set up by Mohammed Mansouri, but Ivo Costa equalised five minutes later from a Salgeo Dias assist.
Areal goalkeeper Asnoy Costa kept his side in contention by saving a Guardian Angel penalty before the match went to a tiebreaker. Guardian Angel held their nerve in the shootout to seal a 6-5 victory.
