A Tiranga Yatra was held in the city on Tuesday as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign commemorating 150 glorious years of Vande Mataram.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant joined the Tiranga Yatra. Paying heartfelt tributes to the countless freedom fighters, whose sacrifices gifted an independent India, Sawant stated that their courage continues to inspire us as we march towards Viksit Bharat @2047, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister urged the Gen Z and Gen Alpha to understand the rich legacy of the freedom movement and become active partners in building a stronger, self-reliant and developed India. He also encouraged everyone to let the National Tricolour inspire them to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, discipline and national service.
Meanwhile, in commemoration of the 150 years of Vande Mataram, an exhibition on the history and significance of the iconic patriotic song has been organised at Azad Maidan.
It highlights the journey of Vande Mataram and its enduring place in India’s freedom struggle and national identity.
